Wild Life: I Found Deer

Today I found deer. I was walking along the highway and thought it was rather boring to see all the field and shrubberies on the side. But then in the distance on the field, I saw something, I did set my lens to 300mm because it could just be deer and I didn’t want to miss this chance. I took several photos, just to be sure that I have enough to choose from. The deer was still pretty far away, too far away for 300mm, but I cropped the photo with Lightroom, with quality loss, just to get closer, but … Continue reading Wild Life: I Found Deer

Back to Lübeck

I drove back to Lübeck yesterday. There are a couple of reasons why I drove back. I have to manage some things for myself, mainly bureaucracy related. Then there is the problem that my aunt got the flu, and I really don’t want to get the flu too. I am usually pretty resistant against flu viruses, especially because I am often outside no matter the weather. Anyway, if someone else has it around you, there is the risk you will get it too. Yep, I am pretty paranoid about flu viruses and try to keep any risk out of my … Continue reading Back to Lübeck

Winter Landscape Hike

As I mentioned in some of my earlier posts, there are different smaller forests and fields outside of Reinfeld. We have fallow deer and roe deer in the forests outside of the town, and there are wild boars in the shrubbery near the pond but they are shy at day time and only come out at night. I really don’t want to meet wild boars when I am hiking, because they can be dangerous, especially after they did breed. When you spot a female wild boar with offspring, it can end badly, because they might try to aggressively protect the … Continue reading Winter Landscape Hike

Minimalist Field Photo

As I mentioned in earlier posts, here in Reinfeld there are lots of fields and some farms, and by the way, the German word “feld” translates to “field” in English. I shot the photo above during one of my hikes, but I did edit the photo a little bit afterwards. The heaven was too bright, and that has to do with the fact that I recently started to try the manual modes of my camera, which means I often use the wrong settings, but that is practicing, and sometimes I can change things afterwards with Lightroom or Photoshop, and that’s … Continue reading Minimalist Field Photo

Path To The Nature

Here in Reinfeld where I am now for a while, it does only take me a 10 minutes walk to see the nature. I spotted some interesting places, including interesting paths. There is a pond with a lot of birds, but I didn’t have a chance to take photos of the birds as they were too far away for my lens. Yesterday I saw a woman with a quite big lens, I assume she did use a 300mm or 400mm lens and took pictures of cormorants, but they were too far away for my 105mm lens, and it’s sad to … Continue reading Path To The Nature

Close-Up Plant Photo

Here is a plant photo that I shot by the end of summer in a local school garden. The original photo was really bad, with extreme highlights, but then I noticed that the plant was not too much overexposed, only the rest of the image. I cropped the plant out, got closer on that way, and decreased the exposure a little bit for correction. Even that close, I was happy to see that the plant was just a little blurry, and that I could fix this with sharpening and a little amount of clarity. I like the result, except that … Continue reading Close-Up Plant Photo
