Ocean of Dandelion Seed Heads

When I was hiking in Reinfeld back then, I often found whole fields of dandelion seed heads, almost oceans of them. When the wind was blowing, you would see millions of seed heads flying in the air, it really looked magical, or like in a fairy tale. But I thought it must be horrible for an allergic person. It must look cool if you take a photo of a flying seed head with a macro lens, but that’s probably pretty difficult to do. I noticed that I didn’t upload a lot of flower photos this year, there have been years … Continue reading Ocean of Dandelion Seed Heads

Common Blackbird Picture

I did already upload several common blackbird photos to my blog, but here is another one. I really didn’t like the highlights in the background, which is why I partly reduced vibrance and highlights. I did also decrease saturation of the blue colour to make the heaven highlights in the background even less apparent. Then I used the adjustment brush to reduce the contrast, exposure and saturation on the tree branch to shift the focus away from it. For the bird I used another adjustment brush to brighten the plumage and to show a little bit of detail. As I … Continue reading Common Blackbird Picture

Beautiful Schellbruch Hiking Trail

Some hiking trails are so beautiful that I like to take photos of them. Above you can see a photo that I took during my hike through the Schellbruch Area in Lübeck. I was sadly running in the sun direction and there was too much front light, and since the lightning was frontal, my lens hood was no help. Anyway, I could fix the photo a little bit in Lightroom, although the front light is still visible, but now it looks like a cool effect or intentional. To avoid the whole problem, it’s usually better not to go hike in … Continue reading Beautiful Schellbruch Hiking Trail

Peacock Butterfly

Here is a photo of an European Peacock Butterfly (Aglais io). Not that I know a lot about butterflies, but I found the name during my Google search. It seems to be incredible easy to find the butterfly name, because there are hints with the colours and marks. Funnily enough, I had to take the photo with my 70-300mm Tamron lens that day, so you could say this is a pseudo-macro shot. I sadly still don’t own a real macro lens, but time will tell if I can afford one some day. Anyway, I can also do some funny things … Continue reading Peacock Butterfly

Weekly Photo Challenge: Narrow

I find the recent WordPress Photo Challenge with the subject “Narrow” pretty interesting. I do especially like narrow paths when I hike, although not all of them are narrow, but sometimes they are. Weeks ago I found a very narrow path somewhere outside of the city, and I found it so beautiful that I had to take a photo. I think the photo fits very well to the challenge.
