Street in Lübeck

Above you can see a small alley or street in the historic district of Lübeck. It’s the most interesting district in our city because there you can still find old construction styles. In other words, you find a lot of buildings with brick stone. First I wanted to upload the photo in color, but it was shot in JPG and the image contained overblown highlights so that I decided to convert it to black and white. But that’s not bad either, because I love black and white photos and it works with the photo above as well. Continue reading Street in Lübeck

Male House Sparrow

Above is a photo of a house sparrow and I believe it is a male house sparrow. I shot the photo last year somewhere in Timmendorf near the beach. They were sitting on a glass fence but I also found them in the bushes near the beach. Generally, they are very common here and I see them often. If you like bird photos, you can find more on my blog and also different photos of sparrows. Continue reading Male House Sparrow

Niendorf Harbour

Above you can see a small harbour in Niendorf near Timmendorfer Strand at the Baltic Sea. I would almost say that the harbour is cute, because it’s a very little harbour. I don’t like to eat fish, but for anyone else this is probably a good place to get fresh fish. Not only did they sell them in small stalls around the harbour, I also saw a fishing boat that just came in and they had freshly caught fish on board. I liked to roam around the harbour because of the typical baltic flair. You can find more pictures from … Continue reading Niendorf Harbour

Couscous

Above you can see one of my favorite meals, one that is not German. Of course, some of my favorite meals are German, others Italian and I also like Asian food but the meal in the picture is Arabic or North African. It’s called Couscous or Cous Cous and it’s hot, and super delicious. My mother can cook it very well, but she did not learn it with a cook book. Before her current husband, she was together with someone else, and his sister was together with someone who came originally from Tunisia. We were regularly invited and they prepared … Continue reading Couscous

Almost A Diorama Illusion

Here is a photo that I shot somewhere during my hikes. As you can see, I was walking through the nature but there are some signs of technology, like the Autobahn with the truck, the fields or the wind power wheels in the picture. But what I really find interesting about this picture is that it almost looks like a Diorama Illusion or miniature faked image. If you take a look at the truck on the Autobahn, it does somehow look like a toy. I think that illusion comes from the fact that I was focussing at the Autobahn of … Continue reading Almost A Diorama Illusion

Wagtail On A Tree Stump

Above you can see a wagtail bird on a tree stump. I am always happy when I can take photos of birds, but when I find a waigtail I am even more happy because they are a bit more difficult to find. When I was in Reinfeld, I noticed you have a higher chance to find them near the pond called Herrenteich. In Lübeck you find them more likely near the Trave River but I had a much better chance to find them in Reinfeld, for some reason they are much more likely to occur there, probably because it’s outside … Continue reading Wagtail On A Tree Stump
