Weekly Photo Challenge: Shine

The recent WordPress Photo Challenge is about light sources that make things visible. I first thought to come up with a photo of a spider web, because most often you can just see them if they are highlighted by the sunshine. I also thought about small streams in a forest, they are not always visible through the bush but when there is light shining into the forest, they stand out. But then I found the image that you can see in this post. It’s about a light source, about sunshine. You can not always see sunbeams, but sometimes they become … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Shine

Black And White Landscape Photo

I wanted to share this photo even if it’s just a black and white landscape photo. However, liked it how the image composition turned out when I played with the cropping tool in Lightroom. It’s not a very special image, it’s just the composition that I like with the tree on the left side. Also the image shows the very typical North German landscape. Everything is flat here, and except for small bushes, rivers, the sea and small forests, we do have many fields in Schleswig Holstein. Continue reading Black And White Landscape Photo

European Rabbit

Here is a photo of a European rabbit also called common rabbit as I found out on the English Wiki page. We always had lots of them on the lawns in our district. When I was younger, it was always funny when I invited school friends from other districts who then were amazed to see so many rabbits in my district. I always thought it would be normal, but then I learned not every district had so many of them. Just over the last years the population declined heavily in our district, at first I didn’t notice it, but then … Continue reading European Rabbit

A Great Crested Grebe Photo

Here is a photo of a great crested grebe, you can learn more about the bird on Wikipedia. It’s easy to find them in Germany, and when you see one, there is a hight chance that you can watch them hunting for fish. They are great divers, and you often see them with a fish in the beak when they come up to the surface. In Germany they have a funny name, we call them “Haubentaucher”, literally translated it means something like “Hood diver”, where the “Hood” refers to the funny “hairstyle” of the bird I guess. More Than Delicious

Oh, I guess it’s been a long time since I posted pictures of food. Above you can see a fast food dish that I do really like. It’s easy to make and extremely mouth-watering. Just put french fries in the oven or even better, use a deep fat fryer. Roast the cevapcici meat in a pan, and if everything is done, just open a box of cabbage salad and tzatziki. Even untalented cooks like myself can do this, that’s why this meal gets bonus points on my list. Continue reading More Than Delicious
