Footbridge in Bad Oldesloe

Here is a photo I took in Bad Oldesloe. While the colors of the original looked great, I didn’t like the heavy lens flare. I went through a couple of black and white settings until I found a vintage one that did hide most of the lens flare very well. On top of that, it transformed the photo in a very positive way. The reason why I shot the photo was that I liked the arch of the bridge from my point of view. Together with the housing in the background and the stairs, it just made me want to … Continue reading Footbridge in Bad Oldesloe

Cold War Ammunition Depot

In the photo, you see an ammunition depot. I shot the photo in a forest in Heidekamp, outside of Lübeck but very close to Reinfeld. The bunker is one of twelve ammunition depots in our area that were used by the German federal government until the end of the cold war. The ammunition was stored to be able to blow up bridges of strategic value, to prevent enemy troops to advance if it would have come to an invasion. Today, the bunker has a peaceful use case. The Naturschutzbund Deutschland (NABU), a nature conservation association developed it into a quarter … Continue reading Cold War Ammunition Depot

Thuringia in Painted Look

A month ago or so, when I have experimented with painted looks and artsy effects, I also grabbed one of my older Thuringia photos. To be more exact, I took the one from this post. Then I also tried out all kinds of effects in Photoshop until I thought it was somehow interesting. I saved the file but didn’t find the time to upload it to my blog. So, let’s do it now… Continue reading Thuringia in Painted Look

Sunset in Travemünde

Last Sunday, my mother, one of her neighbors, and I drove to Travemünde as we wanted to stroll around near the water. When we walked back to the car, my phone showed that we walked 16 kilometers. That’s a good distance! Before that, her neighbor invited us to a coffee near the beach but I have chosen a cappuccino as I don’t drink coffee. It was a warm October day but the breeze at the Baltic Sea can be cold, so the hot drink was welcomed. On the way back to the car, we got rewarded with a wonderful sunset. … Continue reading Sunset in Travemünde

Reinfeld during Winter

Here is a photo that I shot during a Winter in Reinfeld. It’s not the entire town but some houses near the Herrenteich pond, which is frozen and full of snow in the picture. I’ve taken a similar photo when the pond was not frozen but it’s not the same view. I hope you liked the winter picture. I wasn’t too happy with it at first but when I boosted the white colors and after cropping it a little bit better, I thought it looked fantastic. What do you think about the photo?
