Beautiful Blossoms

I don’t know when and where exactly I took this photo, but I thought it looks beautiful and I want to have this in my personal online library of photos. As always when I upload a flowery photo, I have no idea what kind of plant this is. I find it much more difficult to research about plants than let’s say animals or birds. I hope you like this photo and if you are new to the blog, check out my photography portfolio if you are in the mood to take a look at photos. Continue reading Beautiful Blossoms

Catkin Blossom

Here is a photo that I shot a month ago or so. I like these small furry buds because they look beautiful. I often see this in springtime, and to be honest, I never knew what kind of plant it would be. But that’s where photography and blogging are very educating, because you want to know what kind of subject you share and you start to research. So, I found out this should be the blossom of a catkin plant, let me know if I am wrong. I hope you like the photo. Continue reading Catkin Blossom

Forest Flowers

At the time I’ve been in Reinfeld, I really enjoyed it to hike through the small forests in that area. I did this regularly when I had free time, and it always helped me to gain new energy. I had my camera with me most of the time as I searched for photo subjects. In this post you can see a photo of flowers that I found in the forest. There was always something unexpected happening, one morning I found deer in the forest, another day a mouse by the wayside, I met talkative people on my way, or strangers … Continue reading Forest Flowers

Yellow Farmland

It’s the first time I don’t like an English translation. I just typed the German word for this seed into an online dictionary and was pretty surprised about the translation, it’s a quite ambiguous word. Is this crop really called “rape” in English, or is there a better translation? I found the word “coleseed”, but the dictionary says it is a dated English word. Anyway, let’s talk about the photo. Of course, I took the photo again during one of my hikes. I liked the tracks of the tractors in the field, because it gives the image a bit of … Continue reading Yellow Farmland

Close-Up Plant Photo

Here is a plant photo that I shot by the end of summer in a local school garden. The original photo was really bad, with extreme highlights, but then I noticed that the plant was not too much overexposed, only the rest of the image. I cropped the plant out, got closer on that way, and decreased the exposure a little bit for correction. Even that close, I was happy to see that the plant was just a little blurry, and that I could fix this with sharpening and a little amount of clarity. I like the result, except that … Continue reading Close-Up Plant Photo
