Happy Places

The recent WordPress Photo Challenge comes with the theme “Happy Place”. I do not think that there is just one single place where I feel relaxed or happy, I know several happy places. My home acts as a safe haven where I can relax, where I can get creative, where I can mute problems, where I can feel happy most of the time. The same counts for the homes of family members, or the homes of close friends. But there is more than just that. I know happy zones outside as well, I do for example enjoy to hike, and … Continue reading Happy Places

Weekly Photo Challenge: Boundaries

The recent Weekly Photo Challenge is about boundaries. The boundary you see in my photo is a protective barrier for the railroad network. I think it has two functions, stopping people to cross the rails and noise-insulation. What I like about the wall is that it’s not an ugly wall, I like how it’s overgrown with plants, we have other more ugly protective barriers in our city, but this one is quite beautiful in my opinion, what do you think? First The Bad Change, Then The Good Change

The recent WordPress Photo Challenge is about change. When I think about changes, a lot would come to my mind, but then I found a photo in my folders that I shot last year, it’s a photo about two big changes, the divided Germany, and also the German reunification. I will show you remaining pieces of the wall that divided East and West Germany. I shot the photo somewhere between the federal states Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, not far away from our city Lübeck that was on west side of the border, but pretty close to it. As our city was … Continue reading First The Bad Change, Then The Good Change

Weekly Photo Challenge Close-Up: Thriving Flower

The recent WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge came last friday with the theme “Close-Up”. That is interesting, because the image I used in this post would have fit nicely to the theme, but I used it right before. Anyway, I have no problem to find another one. We don’t have the best weather right now, it’s raining since some days, that means I had to dig in my folders to find an appropriate image for the challenge, one photo that I shot before the rain. To be honest, most of the time my photos are uploaded delayed anyway. So, I decided … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge Close-Up: Thriving Flower

Half And Half: Heaven And Water Divided By Industrial Architecture

I shot the photo in this post a few weeks ago when I walked a long march to the Schellbruch in Lübeck. Before I arrived, I had to walk along the Trave River and through the industrial area you see in the photo. To be honest, this is a photo I find very attractive. I know, self-praise is no recommendation, but there is so much blue going on in the image that I simply love this scene, there is something I love about this image, it’s all the blue. I also like how the warehouse does cut the heaven and … Continue reading Half And Half: Heaven And Water Divided By Industrial Architecture
