Misty Path

Misty weather makes things look interesting and mysterious, I really like misty weather. We had it misty today, and that all day long. I grabbed my camera in the afternoon one hour before it gets dark, because I thought I could take some mysterious photos along one of the paths near a big pond. I shot several photos, but I really like the one you can see in this post. When my aunt saw the photo, she said “I wouldn’t have walked there in the mist, because it looks creepy”, and I laughed and replied “Well, I am glad you … Continue reading Misty Path

Finally It’s Cold

It took a while, but now it’s cold. We have sub-zero temperatures since three days. The winter comes late, but at least we have a little bit winter now. I was hiking a couple of times, I walked through forests, over fields and alongside the river, but yesterday I really had to abort my tour after two hours walking, because it was teeth-chattering cold. I like the fresh and clean air when it’s cold, but there is a change of thinking if you walk two hours outside at minus 10 degrees. Hot chocolate is the best drink after a winter … Continue reading Finally It’s Cold

Minimalist Field Photo

As I mentioned in earlier posts, here in Reinfeld there are lots of fields and some farms, and by the way, the German word “feld” translates to “field” in English. I shot the photo above during one of my hikes, but I did edit the photo a little bit afterwards. The heaven was too bright, and that has to do with the fact that I recently started to try the manual modes of my camera, which means I often use the wrong settings, but that is practicing, and sometimes I can change things afterwards with Lightroom or Photoshop, and that’s … Continue reading Minimalist Field Photo

Path To The Nature

Here in Reinfeld where I am now for a while, it does only take me a 10 minutes walk to see the nature. I spotted some interesting places, including interesting paths. There is a pond with a lot of birds, but I didn’t have a chance to take photos of the birds as they were too far away for my lens. Yesterday I saw a woman with a quite big lens, I assume she did use a 300mm or 400mm lens and took pictures of cormorants, but they were too far away for my 105mm lens, and it’s sad to … Continue reading Path To The Nature

Christmas Tree Snapshot

I shot the photo above in front of the town hall of the village where I am right now, as I liked both the town hall and the big Christmas tree. I did roam around in the town with the kids of my uncle, and they liked the Christmas tree too. They laughed at me, because I tried to take close-up pictures of the Christmas tree balls, because it’s a rocket science to take a photo without having my own reflection in the photo, but I got it right at some point. Anyway, I do start to understand where a … Continue reading Christmas Tree Snapshot

First Winter Hikes

As I mentioned, I moved temporary to take care of my uncle until he feels better, but that doesn’t mean that I have no free time, because his wife takes care too, and that means there is still enough time for myself. I know the village already, but I never checked the whole area and as someone who likes to hike, I thought it would be a good idea to do that. The place could be interesting in summer, there are lots of fields and farms, some smaller forests, and very small lakes. We have winter and everything should be … Continue reading First Winter Hikes
