Beautiful Golden Pheasant

Today I walked again through one of the small forests in Reinfeld, and I found a small station where you can watch birds. I actually found this place already a month ago, but it was difficult to take photos with my 18-105mm lens, because the birds are in big cages and I couldn’t get close enough with that lens. Now I have the Tamron 70-300mm lens and this allows me to get closer to all kind of subjects. But there was still the grid of the cages between me and the birds, but I noticed that the grid would basically … Continue reading Beautiful Golden Pheasant

A Little Bit More Color Please

I must say that I pretty much like autumn and winter, but at some point you will get enough of it. At the moment we have so much clouds, and rainy days, and everything appears grey. I starting to get the desire for spring and summer. I thought it’s time to upload one of the more colorful photos that I shot last summer, a verdurous meadow. I am ready for that time, I am starting to get depressed and tired, the grey colors I see every day are starting to affect my body and soul. As said, I like autumn … Continue reading A Little Bit More Color Please

Wild Life: I Found Deer

Today I found deer. I was walking along the highway and thought it was rather boring to see all the field and shrubberies on the side. But then in the distance on the field, I saw something, I did set my lens to 300mm because it could just be deer and I didn’t want to miss this chance. I took several photos, just to be sure that I have enough to choose from. The deer was still pretty far away, too far away for 300mm, but I cropped the photo with Lightroom, with quality loss, just to get closer, but … Continue reading Wild Life: I Found Deer

Frozen Time

The recent WordPress Photo Challenge is about time. It’s some time ago when I told my mother how to fill up a glass with Coca Cola, not only because I was thirsty, but also because I wanted to try to freeze the time with my camera, or in other words, I wanted to find out how fast my D7100 camera is. At that time I was a complete newbie to DSLR photography, and I took the photo in the program mode but the result is just fine. At that time I didn’t discover the shutter priority mode, or the manual … Continue reading Frozen Time

When Creativity Meets Creativity

I recently met a new blogger, she dropped a comment on one of my older posts where I uploaded a photoshopped image of my cat Shyna. She told me that she would like to draw one of my cat photos, and I told her that I would be happy if she can get inspired by one of my photos, and that I would be very curious about the result. Most of the time, if I am not too busy, I visit the blogs of people who comment here, and that is basically how I learned about Laura from Create Art … Continue reading When Creativity Meets Creativity

It Can Be Incredible Hard To Determine Birds

In Reinfeld where I am right now, there are quite a lot of little birds. I shot several photos of small ones, but sometimes it’s incredible hard to determine the birds. Take the photo in this post for example, it was a challenge to find the name, and I am not even sure about it yet. There are three very similar birds, the siskin, the serin and the yellowhammer buntin, all of them have some very similar features and colors. I think the bird in my photo might be a siskin, I say that because after researching I found out … Continue reading It Can Be Incredible Hard To Determine Birds
