Our Red Currant Berries

Do you like to eat red currant berries? I liked them ever since I can remember. I think I did eat my first red currant berries when I was six years old or so, we had a garden back then too. We had several red currant bushes, each day I picked them and enjoyed the taste. Today if I pick and eat some, the memories come back and I feel like a child again for a moment. It’s good that we have red currant berries in our recent garden too, they are mature and we can already eat them. They … Continue reading Our Red Currant Berries

Bumblebee On A Plant

I shot this photo in the garden. We have a lot of bumblebees in the garden due to all the flowers and plants. It would be a paradise for macro photography. Now I still need to work with the kit lens, it’s not optimal as I can not get very close to insects or flowers, because then I can’t focus anymore. But in this case I tried to get close as possible, at home I cropped the image to get even closer. It’s not too bad I think. Continue reading Bumblebee On A Plant

White Swan With Fledglings

I saw this white swan with the fledglings at the Schellbruch. There were two of them and I think it was the parental couple of the fledglings. The swan that protected the fledglings hissed quite loud and expanded the wings to appear dangerous. You probably know it, it’s not harmless to enter their territory, that’s what people say and I think they are right. I was pretty careful and didn’t show any fast reactions and the swan eventually noticed that I am not a threat and calmed down. There was a footbridge near the swan that you need to use … Continue reading White Swan With Fledglings

Learning A Few Things About Long Exposure During My First Attempt To Capture Lightnings

I complained several times on my blog that the start of the summer in Germany was rather autumn-like, not because I dislike autumn, I am in fact a big fan of this kind of climate, but it’s not really the best weather for photography which is why I was unhappy with it. But then a few days ago the weather changed, it became tolerable warm. Now all of a sudden, the weather changed from autumn-like over tolerable warm to hot and humid. There is a heat wave in Germany right now, it’s maddening hot and humid since two days. It’s … Continue reading Learning A Few Things About Long Exposure During My First Attempt To Capture Lightnings

Weekly Photo Challenge: Door

The recent WordPress Photo Challenge is funny, no really, I like it. I enjoy taking pictures of objects. There are so many objects that most people would find boring, I did that too, but I pay more attention to these objects since I am interested in photography. This weeks challenge is about doors, and they are probably one of these subjects where most people would ask “Why did you take a picture of a door?”, I would have asked the same question too a while ago, but now I don’t, because they are interesting. The fun about photography is to … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Door
