Beef Roulade

I thought I upload a photo for my food photography category again. My grandma cooked the dish you can see in the picture above. We ate that during Christmas and that’s when I took the picture. I don’t always upload my photos in a timely manner. But I wanted to share it anyway. What you see is a Rinderroulade (Beef Roulade), with potatoes, red cabbage, peas, and carrots. And a tasty sauce! This is also a very common German dish and extremely tasty. Continue reading Beef Roulade

Mom’s Potato Salad

Potato salad is a very common dish in Germany as well. Once in a while, people like to prepare and eat a nice potato salad. I visited my mother during Christmas and at New Year’s Eve and in both cases she prepared potato salad with Bockwurst (a sausage variant). Every family prepares the potato salad in different ways but if you ask a person where you can get the best potato salad, he or she will most likely reply “If you visit my mother and or my grandma”. Delicious Meal

I didn’t upload food related photos for a while and thought I do this now. The picture in this post was shot with my mothers phone, and she prepared the food as well and we ate it together. I like roast potatoes a lot. This time we had some uncommon ingredients, like beans, onions and tomatoes. It’s at least uncommon with roast potatoes, because people either eat it with eggs, spinach or Spreewald gherkins and other variations. It was creative and tasty nonetheless. Barbecue

Since a warmer season is starting now, I can’t await to have a barbecue. The photo above was taken some years ago, but it makes me hungry for sure. I still have many photos of different dishes and I will probably never finish to upload them all to my blog. But my food category is already quite big. I didn’t plan to upload so much food photos, but that’s the fun part about a broad blog, because you never know how it turns out. Continue reading Barbecue

Fried Potatoes With Fried Eggs

Here is a photo of fried potatoes with fried eggs. I did probably mention it a tons of times on my blog, but this is one of my favorite dishes. It’s so simple to prepare, even a lazy cook like I am can do it, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t tasty. I do also like it with fried onions, then it’s extra delicious. Sometimes I also eat it with ketchup, but that totally depends on my mood (laugh). I bet my whole blog is already plastered with fried potato photos. Continue reading Fried Potatoes With Fried Eggs

Unexpected Possibilities

I purchased my Nikon 50mm prime lens because I liked the fact that you can play with depth of field and bokeh according to different sources. On my DX sensor, 50mm are effectively seen 75mm, that means I thought this would also be a nice lens to try portrait photography and this is true. The weather is so bad that I don’t like to go outside with my camera, but I tested the new lens inside. I visited grandma and grandpa, and my uncle, and I shot several portrait photos and liked it. There are a couple of other reasons … Continue reading Unexpected Possibilities
