Elbe–Lübeck Canal

I thought it would be time to upload a landscape photo again. In this post you can see the Elbe–Lübeck Canal. It connects the Elbe and the Trave River in Lübeck. Sometimes I like to hike there because you can spot cormorants there, and with a bit of luck it’s also possible to find grey herons or sea eagles in that area. I saw them a the canal too several times, but of course when I didn’t have my camera with me. But I could take photos of these birds somewhere else already, fortunately. But one thing is sure, the … Continue reading Elbe–Lübeck Canal

Riesebusch Nature

Today I took my camera and decided to hike in Bad Schwartau, a town 5 km north or northwest of Lübeck. There is a forest called Riesebusch and I wanted to hike there to take some new photos. Today I didn’t take a look at the weather report and it became quite windy and cloudy when I arrived. It was not the perfect weather to go hiking and to take photos. I had luck and it didn’t rain too early, but I was caught by the rain 10 minutes before I arrived at home and had to change clothes. I … Continue reading Riesebusch Nature

Weekly Photo Challenge: Edge

Above you can see a photo that I have chosen for the recent WordPress Photo Challenge. I took the photo during my hike through the Schellbruch, because there is a small and beautiful village where people have their own gardens and their own pier. Imagine you have your own pier at the end of your garden, and your own boat, that’s pretty cool! Talking about the photo, I am not sure if it was a good idea to focus on the background, maybe I should have focused on the pier, but I just recently discovered a better way to focus … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Edge

Some Bad Oldesloe Photos

As I mentioned, I’ve been in Bad Oldesloe yesterday to take some photos and to enjoy my day. I thought I show you some of my photos. As I mentioned as well, the Trave River is flowing there too, and as you see in the image above, they have some beautiful footbridges there, and beautiful buildings. Here are three more pictures, I will upload more over time… Continue reading Some Bad Oldesloe Photos

Harbor Area In Lübeck

Fun fact, I have 5200 images that I didn’t upload yet, because taking photos is much easier than preparing or uploading them. At times I should upload older ones. Above you can see a photo I shot in Lübeck near the harbor area. You can see the Trave River in the photo. This is one of the photos where I wondered how it would turn out, I shot the photo after I got my D7100. I believe I was drawn to the colours in the heaven and the reflections in the water. The photo was shot in the morning, during … Continue reading Harbor Area In Lübeck

Finally It’s Cold

It took a while, but now it’s cold. We have sub-zero temperatures since three days. The winter comes late, but at least we have a little bit winter now. I was hiking a couple of times, I walked through forests, over fields and alongside the river, but yesterday I really had to abort my tour after two hours walking, because it was teeth-chattering cold. I like the fresh and clean air when it’s cold, but there is a change of thinking if you walk two hours outside at minus 10 degrees. Hot chocolate is the best drink after a winter … Continue reading Finally It’s Cold
