Route to Hamburg

Above is a photo that I shot in Reinfeld. These train tracks go from Lübeck over Reinfeld where I shot the photo, to Hamburg and so on. And nope, I didn’t put myself in danger. I was standing on a barely used country road and the railway gates were opened, which means there was no train to be expected. On top of that I was extra careful, because people can pass this point and I didn’t stay much longer than a pedestrian would do. I like photos with leading lines, that make your eyes wander to a certain point in … Continue reading Route to Hamburg

I Wish You A Happy Holiday Season

I just want to wish you a happy holiday season. I will make it short this year. I will take a break because some fine mechanical parts below my keyboard’s space bar broke and I couldn’t repair it. If I can trust the Amazon status report, my new keyboard won’t arrive before 5th January. You know what that means, you won’t hear from me before that delivery arrived unless I create small posts with my tablet, but that’s unlikely because I’d rather write with a broken space bar. Which by the way happened with this post. If I hit it … Continue reading I Wish You A Happy Holiday Season

Funny Dude

Today I looked through my older photos again, those that I shot with a point-and-shoot camera back then. Then I found the picture above. The sky was completely overexposed and I was unable to fix that so that I decided to go black and white right away. The photo was shot in 2011, we found some young camels (I guess) on a field and we took several pictures. They look pretty funny and they weren’t shy. Continue reading Funny Dude

Photo After The Jam

Don’t expect a guitar related post here, it’ll be about photography. I jammed with my Guild Bluesbird today for several hours and then I got too tired to continue to play. I had the guitar still on my lap and when I looked at my guitar, the photographer came out of me because I liked the angle. I wanted to take a photo of that scene but I knew all my lenses wouldn’t work due to the minimum focus distance, because they all can’t focus at this short distance. So, I grabbed my tablet and took the photo. That’s what … Continue reading Photo After The Jam

Baltic Sea Pier

Here is another smartphone snapshot from the past. I like it because of the leading line, the pier. The original had really dull or boring colours. I decided to try different black and white settings and found one that I really liked. I’d say it’s a minimalist photo, but I like that too. The photo was taken at the Baltic Sea in Travemünde. I totally love that place, not just because it’s so close to me, but I am a Fischkopp to the core (a fishhead, a person from Northern Germany, someone who couldn’t live at a place far away … Continue reading Baltic Sea Pier
