I’m Proud Because I Am Achieving Things I Thought I Couldn’t Achieve Anymore

The photo above is not very special, because it’s just a random snapshot of our Trave Channel. I like to add photos to my posts, but this post here is not so much about the photo but about something else. Today I just noticed that I am proud, actually pretty proud about myself. Because I was swimming again, even if I went jogging yesterday. But I felt great after two hours swimming and I sat at home thinking, or daydreaming. Do you know these moments when you ask yourself what goes well at the moment, and what goes not so … Continue reading I’m Proud Because I Am Achieving Things I Thought I Couldn’t Achieve Anymore

Experimental Harbor Photo

Above you can see an experimental photo I shot at the harbor area in Lübeck. It is sometimes interesting to try things out, and I think I wanted to use the reflection of the window. You see an old storehouse that is now used for festivities, and in the reflection of the window you see the harbor and Trave River. In my opinion this image worked quite well in black and white so that I applied this to the image. Continue reading Experimental Harbor Photo

Elbe–Lübeck Canal

I thought it would be time to upload a landscape photo again. In this post you can see the Elbe–Lübeck Canal. It connects the Elbe and the Trave River in Lübeck. Sometimes I like to hike there because you can spot cormorants there, and with a bit of luck it’s also possible to find grey herons or sea eagles in that area. I saw them a the canal too several times, but of course when I didn’t have my camera with me. But I could take photos of these birds somewhere else already, fortunately. But one thing is sure, the … Continue reading Elbe–Lübeck Canal

Weekly Photo Challenge: Local

This week, the WordPress Photo Challenge asks us what “local” means to us. I find the theme for the challenge easy but interesting. I associate the word “local” with Lübeck, the town where I was born, the town I am grown up and the town where I still live after so many years. I do even associate the word with Schleswig-Holstein, the federal state where I live, but I thought the challenge would give me a reason to share a photo from Lübeck, even if you can already find many photos of this city on my blog. It’s definitely not … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Local

Handheld Night Photography Try

Here is a photo that I shot handheld at night. It’s funny, I have a very cool Manfrotto tripod and recently I did even purchase a cool tripod bag, but yet I am still too lazy to carry the stuff out there to take some cool night photographs. The photo in this post was shot without tripod, because as said, I am way too lazy to take the tripod with me. I shot the photo with manual settings as I wanted to try out if it’s possible at all. I did set the camera to ISO 1600 with aperture f4 … Continue reading Handheld Night Photography Try
