Rettich

This is incredibly tasty, we call it “Rettich” in Germany. I actually tried to translate it but found out it is called “radish” in English, which is strange. Why? Because it seems the same word is used for another type of vegetables, the one we call Radieschen. I have no clue why “Radieschen” and “Rettich” are both called “radish” in English. Yes, they taste similar but they look very different. How do you distinguish if someone sends you to purchase “radish”? Continue reading Rettich

Radishes and Good Weather

So far, the summer was more like a mix of autumn and spring but since yesterday it’s pretty hot. Summer, Salad Time

But I really love mixed salads and I bet I wrote about this several times on my blog. Continue reading Summer, Salad Time

Then I saw our red garden bench and the idea came up that a white bowl full of salad should look very cool with a red background. This is rather a scene I am proud of. My mother said it would look pretty nice like a product photo. To be honest, I do think that too. I think it’s about the colours as … Continue reading I Love Delicious Salads

First Garden Yields

Mom got one, her husband and I tested one too. Apart from the fact that I am a real fan of radishes, the garden radish tasted extremely good. The husband of my mother doesn’t like chemicals, he prefers to let the things grow on their own and you taste it. The garden radish was actually more tasty than those you get in the stores. Next we also checked out the … Continue reading First Garden Yields
