As someone who is taking all my photos with a smart phone, I am simply impressed by the Sony promo video above.
Sony will release two different lens-style camera´s for smartphones, which you can mount magnetical on your smart phone. But the camera´s will be independent and useable with all Android and iOS phones. With independent I mean that the smart phone will have the only function as a screen, to hold the camera and that you can use your phone as remote control for the QX10 and QX100 camera´s. That means you don´t even have to attach the camera to the phone! The camera´s are stripped down to the basics as lens, sensor and power.
There are at the moment still a lot rumors about the QX10 and QX100. But it seems that a lot will be true. The video above confirms at least some of the rumors about the specs, I have read.
The QX10 will feature a 1/2.3-inch 18-megapixel sensor paired with an f/3.3-5.9 lens and the QX10 will cost round about $250. The QX100 will come out with a high-quality 1-inch 20.2-megapixel Exmor R sensor and a f/1.8-4.9 Carl Zeiss lens and this means for sure that the QX100 will cost with round about $450 a lot more.
To have a little comparison, the QX10 could be called the equivalent to Sony’s WX150 camera and the QX100 could be called the equivalent of the much-loved RX100m2.
Sony will release the products under the name Smart Shot. I am pretty excited about the QX10 and QX100. I am afraid that I could spend my saved money (which I save for a guitar) to afford one of these great camera´s. But maybe I am strong enough to not stray from my plans.
I have been reading about these and am very excited about the possibilities these lens may hold-
Agree. Pretty exciting. It´s really crazy what is possible today. 😀 I really would like to own a QX100 but not sure if I get the money together 😀 Even if I saved some money already… but the money is saved for other things 😀 But with a QX100 I would run riot and spam my blog with tons of photos, if I don´t do that already 😀
