Sony Xperia Z1 Specs and Release

As a Sony Xperia Smartphone fan, I have to post this. I am owner of the Sony Xperia P but my next phone will probably be one Xperia again as I am pretty happy with the Sony phones. Especially because of the great cameras of the past Xperia phones. Well, regular readers know I take all my photos with the mentioned phone above. But…

Tommorow Sony will fully unveil the new Sony Xperia Z1 but there are already a lot of informations leaked. And the informations are pretty interesting.

About the Sony Xperia Z1 specs: The Xperia Z1 will have a 5-inch 1080 x 1980 pixel resolution TFT display. The phone comes with a TRILUMINOS display and X-Reality for mobile. And the Z1 will be will be water-resistant. The frame will be solid in one-piece aluminium.

The chipset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 and includes a 2.2GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 330 graphics. The Sony Xperia Z1 comes with 2 GB of Memory and 16GB internal storage.

Now for the people who take photos with a smartphone like me… Sony said the Xperia Z1 has the “world’s leading camera in a smartphone”. They back it up when they say “independent testing has confirmed that Xperia Z1 provides the best overall image quality of all leading smartphones”. I am not sure if it´s true, however I am already pretty happy with the Xperia P camera and it just can get better. I trust them a lot but on the other site the Lumia 1020 phone which has a pretty awesome camera, must be mentioned too! In my opinion time will tell which modern smart phone has the better camera.

About the camera specs: The Xperia Z1 will come with a 1/2.3-inch 20.7MP Exmor RS CMOS image sensor. It includes Sony’s G Lens (27mm wide-angle and bright F2.0 aperture) and the “BIONZ for mobile” image processing engine. Sony also talked about a pack of camera apps.

Sony also talked about a lot of accessories for photography which you additionally could buy soon. The QX10 and QX100 ‘lens-style’ cameras which you can magnetical put on the phone and the Smart Imaging Stand IPT-DS10M and Smartphone Tripod SPA-MK20M.

All this will make smartphone photography much more powerful. Really.
