Running Progress
I took the snapshot when I was done with my jogging tour. I have a nice belt where I can carry a 0.5 liter bottle of water with me. It’s always my reward when I walk back home, or when I need a sip during the run. Today I ran 4 km without a single break and I think this is pretty good considering that I ran three days in a row. Today my lungs and my heart felt like I could have continued to run forever but my muscles didn’t want it anymore at 4 km and I listen … Continue reading Running Progress
Stormy Weather And Summer Days
The weather is pretty funny at the moment. One day it’s super stormy with heavy rain and heavy thunderstorms, and in-between we have days that are sunny and humid. Right now it’s like alternating between a stormy day, and then a sunny day. Oh, and talking about the humid days, it seems like I am a bit hardened by the last year (the incredibly hot and humid European summer in 2018). I am pretty sure I would already start to complain about the humid weather, but now I know it could be worse. Like a neighbor said when we discussed … Continue reading Stormy Weather And Summer Days
Suggestion Gone Wrong
I talked with a friend and when she heard that I consider getting a second cat (I am not in a hurry) and that there are barely new kittens in our city, she suggested me to take a look at … Continue reading Suggestion Gone Wrong
Fern Leave
In this post, I show you an experimental photo that I shot with my 40mm macro lens. I shot it the day I got the lens and when I wanted to try different things with it. I like fern plants and their leaves, they’re beautiful. It’s maybe because they look and grow perfectly. It’s maybe the symmetry I like. I actually liked them already when I was a kid. In the holidays, I always visited my grandparents on their campground in Salem, a very beautiful place with forests and lakes. With 8 years or so, I dug out a fern … Continue reading Fern Leave
Another Fly
Here is another photo of a fly. The photo was quite good as it came out of the camera. But I decided to heavily crop the image because it was still sharp enough for my taste. I am learning that macro photography is a lot of fun and completely different to what I have previously done. I think it’s inevitable, by using my new Nikon 40mm lens, I am probably opening pandoras box, which means I will probably put a longer macro lens on my wishlist in the future. But not yet, I do now have a new lens to … Continue reading Another Fly
A Fly
I was walking through the garden areas and saw a fly on a greenish wooden beam. While people say the Nikon 40mm macro lens isn’t perfect for insect photography, I often try to attempt things anyway. And yes, it’s difficult because you need to come close to have a nice picture, and you know insects are shy. But after using the lens for some days now, I can say it isn’t impossible because sometimes they let you come close. But I still would say it’s very tricky, and in the future, I might get myself a 105mm macro lens or … Continue reading A Fly
