Finally It’s Cold

It took a while, but now it’s cold. We have sub-zero temperatures since three days. The winter comes late, but at least we have a little bit winter now. I was hiking a couple of times, I walked through forests, over fields and alongside the river, but yesterday I really had to abort my tour after two hours walking, because it was teeth-chattering cold. I like the fresh and clean air when it’s cold, but there is a change of thinking if you walk two hours outside at minus 10 degrees. Hot chocolate is the best drink after a winter … Continue reading Finally It’s Cold

First Winter Hikes

As I mentioned, I moved temporary to take care of my uncle until he feels better, but that doesn’t mean that I have no free time, because his wife takes care too, and that means there is still enough time for myself. I know the village already, but I never checked the whole area and as someone who likes to hike, I thought it would be a good idea to do that. The place could be interesting in summer, there are lots of fields and farms, some smaller forests, and very small lakes. We have winter and everything should be … Continue reading First Winter Hikes

Remote Controlled Sailboat

Yesterday when I was walking through the city and the outer areas of the city, I saw people navigating remote control sailboats at a lake. It was a very sunny day and not like an October day, we still have mixed weather but the last week was very sunny and then it’s great to see all the people outside with different hobbies and activities. Most of the RC sailboats were far away on the lake, but one of the guys noticed me with my camera and navigated his RC sailboat close to me so that I can take pictures, that … Continue reading Remote Controlled Sailboat

Sunset in Ratzeburg

Here is another photo related to our trip to Ratzeburg yesterday. The lake is called Domsee. I really like sunsets. I think this here is a pretty cool afternoon shot. It’s an astonishing image considering that my mother shot the photo with her Samsung Galaxy. Especially because she shot frontal into the sun. My Sony Xperia camera has problems in these situation even if I lower the ISO value to 100. I knew this, which is why I asked my mother to take the photo. Continue reading Sunset in Ratzeburg

Excursion to the Domsee in Ratzeburg

We had a ride yesterday and visited some places in our federal state Schleswig-Holstein. On our tour we also drove to the village called Ratzeburg. This is a small town but surrounded by much nature including several lakes. On the photo above you can see a smaller lake that is called Domsee. You see a small cathedral in the background that is probably the reason why the lake is called “Domsee”, because “Dom” is German and means something like “Church” or “Cathedral” and the ending “see” means “sea” or “lake”. There was a small bistro where we bought some scoops … Continue reading Excursion to the Domsee in Ratzeburg
