The Daily Prompt asks: “If you’re feeling blah, what is the one thing you do that you can count on to put a smile on your face?” and I do think this is fairly easy to answer.
If I meet my family, they can put a smile on my face very easy. Same counts for my friends… we can either rant together about any problems or we laugh about the problems to have a smile. Then, my cat makes me smile often too because she knows when I feel bad and then she comes to me. But playing guitar is also my top way to forget problematic things for a while. If all that is not enough, I can still boot up my computer to either play with Photoshop, to browse through the internet, to play games or to write about the problems on my blog. Writing about it can help too, that´s what I noticed recently when I was annoyed by my jaw problems or other stress.
I guess I didn´t even mention all ways and I also don´t expect that I have to smile all the time. There are bad and good times but it´s indeed not bad if you know ways to escape and to forget some bad things. In short I would say family, friends and hobbies are a good way to get the smile back.
The garden wins every time. No matter what the problem, if I go out there, I feel better almost immediately. Plants are the best companions: there’s always something new, often something intriguing, and unfailingly something that I find I just have to do. Plus the bees we keep have a habit of winning me over every time I meet them – no worries, they just get on with the job of carrying their packets of pollen back to the hives and calling in at the water pots for a cooling drink.
But, then, I’m a confirmed garden and countryside golden oldie …
I think that is a good way too. Nature is indeed a good place to get new energy, to calm down, to relax and so on. Thanks for your opinion.
